A Year-Round Regional Cybersecurity Ecosystem

The 2026 Mayors Cyber Cup became more than a competition: it operated as a year-round platform connecting students, coaches, schools, colleges, chambers, employers, and civic leaders.

As of June 12, 2026, Inland Empire students had solved 13,618 cybersecurity challenges and earned more than 1.75 million points on the program’s training platform. Activity continued weeks after competition day, demonstrating that the Cup had become a sustained learning environment rather than a single event.

The program reached 549 enrolled students across 32 schools in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Active learners grew from 35 in December to more than 400 by spring, while 353 students completed meaningful practice across the operating year.

Competition day on April 25 was one milestone inside that larger effort. In three hours, 240 competitors on 50 teams solved 4,834 challenges and scored 440,249 points—the peak of a continuous regional program, not its endpoint.

A rebuilt Coach Dashboard, year-round SkillBit access, recurring training, CyberNuggets, and chamber partnerships connected classroom exposure to college, internship, employment, and small-business cybersecurity pathways. The season ended, but the system kept running.
