SynED’s re-imagined career event is designed to strip off everything that is not wholly focused on connecting applicants to employers and cultivating the best opportunity to find success in hiring. For employers, this means connecting with qualified applicants and decreasing the time to hire. For applicants, this is an opportunity to refine their resume and self-pitch to align with the skills and abilities that employers are looking for. Intentional planning and preparation go into creating an interview forum where applicants and employers prepare to engage with one another. This process is designed to be customizable to meet the program’s needs to realize success.

Identify Employer Participants

Establish basic requirements for employer participation. This varies for each host organization however, the core requirements are that each employer have specific, relevant job openings, and they will send a company representative with authority to make hiring
related decisions.

Establish Job Opening Profiles

To effectively align candidates to employer openings, employers will be required to “translate” their requirements to industry recognized hard and soft skills.

Identify Qualified Applicants

Each potential candidate will be evaluated based upon their match with employer provided industry skill standards and their alignment with desired soft-skills measurements.

Applicant Workshop

Selected applicants will receive focused coaching on interviewing, elevator pitch, resume, LinkedIn refinement, and professional networking to prepare for their interview. Interview appointments are setup during the workshop.

Job Interview Forum

Unlike most career gatherings, this event focuses only on the candidate and employer connection process. This event focuses on matching qualified applicants with the right employers for their scheduled interview. Interviews can be done in-person or virtual but must be conducted by a hiring manager or equivalent.

Program Flow

Quality Improvement Process

Key to any process in business, education or government is a continual process for quality improvement. Exit interviews the day of the event with both parties capture the feeling they have about participating in the process. Continued follow up with participants helps establish the data relating to the desired outcome.

Engagement Duration & Cost

Building engagement with employers and applicant providers such as colleges, high schools or other community-based training organizations takes time and focused effort to ensure that all parties receive value for participating. Consequently, the engagement duration (preparation, event, and post follow up) can be anywhere from 4-6 months. Every event is quoted after a scope and scale review with the customer.
