Regional Mayors Cyber Cup

Using a number of key engagement techniques, this program can help expand your IT and Cybersecurity programs to schools and colleges across your region, giving many in underserved communities an opportunity to start a technology career.

Not Just a One Day Event

This program is not just another cyber competition but a program to engage students, faculty, municipal leaders, and business to grow your CTE programs across the region.

Introducing Opportunities

We have found that success of these events sets the stage for continued growth and expansion of your CTE programs, and creates increased interest in pursuing careers in cybersecurity or IT while providing students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the ever-evolving  technology landscape. These competitions are traditionally focused on middle and high schools students, but by including community college students, the other participants get what is often their first introduction to the opportunities available for continuing their learning in a local institution.

Community of Practice

We work with you and your team to create a community of practice portal to support coaches, faculty and others desiring to integrate cybersecurity into their STEM or other CTE programs at their institutions.

We partner with Cyber.org to provide curriculum and classroom materials to support members of the community of practice. We also work with Cyber.org to schedule their Professional Development (PD) virtual classes for Community of Practice members multiple times throughout the year.

Competitions feature a virtual “LIVE@5” video podcast. These casts occur in several installations running up to the event and include pre-competition training sessions, speakers from academia, business, the cybersecurity industry, and government.

Mayors Get the Trophy

Winning teams present the regional perpetual cup to their mayor in the city council meeting. This brings awareness of cybersecurity and IT to the community and helps get municipal leaders behind the expansion of the programs in schools and colleges.

Why Teams?

Establishing permanent teams that are gender and culturally diverse provide a nuclear unit where competitors develop a support structure and relationships that follow them well into their careers. Permanent teams also help develop employer desired human traits that must be practiced to develop. Whether it is eSports, engineering, cybersecurity, coding, culinary or agricultural, team competitions serve to incubate those key human traits.
